This web interview is with David Brewis aka, School of Language. Hello David

Hello Mark

Right then, firstly: do you know who Philippe Senderos is? (If not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippe_Senderos) As you can see: Philippe Senderos claims he can speak 6 different languages, how many languages can you speak?

Yes, I do know who Philippe Senderos is. Pitifully, I can only speak one language, plus an unimpressive smattering of words in Spanish, French and German. I couldn't conduct a conversation in any of them.

When musicians say that their new music is more 'organic', what the bleeding hell do they mean?

Organic? It means either...

a) they've used an acoustic guitar
b) they really feeeeel it, maaaan
c) they're trying to record more quickly
d) they're trying to record more slowly

Usually it's a combination of (a) and (b). I really hope I've never used that term, but if I did I meant (c).

I see you are playing Greenman festival. That means you don't have to enter the rather odd looking 21st century battle of the bands style online competition to win a slot. How sad are you that it appears 'Letterstoleaders' a 3 piece rock band from Exeter whose music is 'anchored by a huge guitar sound and melodic vocals' have NO votes yet? It's a bloody outrage. http://www.thegreenmanfestival.co.uk/greenpoll/artist/letterstoleaders

It depends on how huge their guitar sound is. I mean, if it's really, really huge, then it's a travesty. If it's just a bit huge then they'll have to queue like everyone else. If it's not really huge at all and the whole thing is just daft hyperbole, then at least their turn of phrase is in fashion.

We are looking forward to you playing in Cardiff, are you looking forward to playing in Cardiff?

I am looking forward to playing in Cardiff. We've had some gigs with Field Music there in the past - there tends to be a distinct air of eccentricity about the place. On the negative side, parking in the town centre is a nightmare and when we played at the barfly I was really quite ill and had to run off to the loos to be sick straight after our set (during which our drum stool broke). Since then, and for different reasons, we've been trying to stick to a no gigs at barflys policy.

I asked my housemate if he had a question for you and he said "what is your favourite household chore?"

I like washing up, because it gives me a chance to work out some mild obsessive compulsive tendencies, and I also like arranging the freshly washed dishes on the draining board.
