TONIGHT! ============================================================================ We will be spinning records (ok ok, more than likely compact diskettes) at Cardiff's Buffalo Bar this evening alongside one of our favourite ever bands, 'MUNCH MUNCH' who have played at 3 or 4 Shape Functions in the past. Also playing are JAMES JAMES (a brand new set up featuring members of King Alexander). Seeing as MUNCH MUNCH and JAMES JAMES are playing we will be known for this evening only as SHAPE SHAPE DJS.
There is a decent write up on the event over at Joy Collective here - it refers to Shape as Munch Munch 'cheerleaders' - sounds about right!! I cannot find a poster for the event anywhere on the web so I will leave you with the sexy Munch Munch album sleeve:

13/08/10 ISLET AT YES WAY ============================================================================ Islet are playing at an event called YES WAY on Saturday night. YES WAY is they type of event Shape wishes it had the guts to put on. It's a a three day celebration of the verdant underground art and music communities across our Sceptred Isle. It is run by the awesome 'Upset The Rhythm' people and is entitled 'YES WAY' in the spirit of venture and positivity. It all happens in a place called 'Auto-Italia' in Peckham. The space used to be a car showroom and is now an art space. 41 different bands are going to perform and many artists will exhibit over the whole weekend. Munch Munch are playing tonight who have played at two or three Shape Functions is the past and rule. Need any more reasons to go?

Recently we have been wondering at the Rhombus Rooms what the etiquette for saying 'Happy New Year' is? When is its expiry date? It seems that people say it to each other if they are yet to see each other in the new year, though if we all went along with that then we'd be screwed. Islet contains many Shape Records affiliates: myself (Mark) fellow Shape operator/founder, John (also a member of A+D and Them Squirrels), Emma (responsible for much Shape artwork over the last 12 months) and Alex (from Fredrick Stanley Star and a Them Squirrels live member).
